Calling All Teachers

The SC State Housing Authority has just announced the 2008 Palmetto Hero Program. This program gives up to $7,000 in down payment assistance grant and a low 5.875% 30 year fixed rate mortgage to SC certified teachers that are currently teaching or have a contract to teach.

As always, there are certain qualifications that need to be met, but this is a fantastic program for any teachers in South Carolina. If you are a teacher or you know one, please get in touch with me or have them get in touch with me as soon as possible, as there is only $20 million set aside for this program and it will go fast. How's the Market?

This is a question I get asked a lot when people find out I’m in real estate. The answer to that question depends on a lot of things: namely whether you are a buyer or a seller right now. If you are a potential buyer in this market, it is the best possible scenario right now. Inventory is at an all time high, mortgage rates are still at historic lows and many sellers (especially builders) are offering fantastic incentives to buyers. There is good news, too, for sellers. While inventory is up along with the average days on market (DOM), the average and median sales price for homes in Greenville is up 5.9% for the first quarter of 2008.

Since we got our moving truck it has been a HUGE hit with our clients, friends and family. In addition to offering it FREE to our current and past clients, churches, non-profits and other charitable organizations may also use it free of charge. Call us to schedule the truck, it is of course always subject to prior reservation, and please note you must be 21 years old with a valid license and insurance, and the truck cannot go more than 50 miles from Greenville.
