Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate the holiday season with your family? The holidays can be an overwhelming time, but we at Hamilton and Co. hope to make things a little easier by sharing this amazing list of 30+ 2021 holiday events in Greenville, South Carolina!

St. Francis Festival of Trees

When: November 19th – December 28th

The 36th annual Festival of Trees features spectacularly decorated trees in three Greenville hotels: Courtyard Marriott Downtown, Embassy Suites by Hilton – Riverplace, and Hyatt Regency. All proceeds benefit SEARCH.

Winter Lights Festival

When: December 12th – December 14th | 6pm – 9pm

Carriage rides, scavenger hunts, crafts, local shopping and more! Join Downtown Travelers Rest for their first annual Winter Lights Festival. 

Holiday Hop TR

When: November 27th | 3pm – 8pm

Tree Lighting, holiday crafts, carriage rides, and photos with Santa, with special guest appearances from The Grinch and Buddy the Elf. It’s a good day to spend on Main Street, Travelers Rest.

2021 Holiday Fair

When: December 2nd – December 4th | 10 am – 8 pm (6 pm Sunday)

Shop over 300 local and commercial vendors at the Greenville Convention Center’s annual Holiday Fair. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door. $7/adult and $6/senior (60+). Children under 12 Free.

2021 Kringle Holiday Village

When: December 11th – December 12th

This Old World Holiday Village is the newest addition to Greenville’s holiday season. Enjoy food from around the world, shop unique arts and crafts, and end the evening with a fireworks display! Advance tickets are $10/person and after December 15th are $15/person. Family rates are available. The event will take place on Fluor Field and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Greenville.

Mauldin’s Beachin’ Christmas 

When: December 2nd | 6pm – 8pm

The City of Mauldin is celebrating Christmas this year with a tropical twist! Enjoy Mauldin’s tree lighting, beach-style holiday music, a holiday market, pictures with Santa and more at the Mauldin Outdoor Amphitheater.

Greer Station Christmas on Cannon Street 

When: December 3rd | 4pm – 8pm

Enjoy festive music, prizes, drawings, local merchant discounts, and more at Greer Station! Tickets are $10/person.

Tree Lightings

Night of Lights

When: December 3rd | Time TBD

Rock around Greenville’s 30 foot Christmas tree glowing with over 20,000 LED lights at the corner of Court and Main Streets, Downtown Greenville in front of M. Judson Booksellers.

Fountain Inn Annual Tree Lighting

When: December 4th | 7pm

Gather around the Christmas tree in Commerce Park for a Tree Lighting Ceremony. The lighting of the tree also kicks off Fountain Inn’s Christmas Festival.

Greer Christmas Tree Lighting  

When: December 3rd | 5 pm

Visit Greer City Park to watch the town’s Christmas tree come alive! The Lighting Ceremony will kick off an evening of fun featuring Santa, holiday craft stations, inflatables and more!

Mauldin Christmas Tree Lighting  

When: December 2nd | 5 pm

Kick off a “Beachin’ Christmas” with Mauldin’s annual tree lighting to be followed by music, pictures with Santa, and more!

Travelers Rest Christmas Tree Lighting  

When: November 27th | 6 pm

Take a break from the “Holiday Hop” festivities to watch TR’s beautiful Christmas tree light up the night sky! 

Bob Jones University Christmas Tree Lighting  

When: December 3rd | 6:30 pm

Join Bob Jones University as they light up their campus for Christmas! Sing carols with family and friends, bring kids to enjoy games, and take pictures beside a life-size snow globe!

Parades and Other Holiday Events 

Ice on Main

When: November 12th – January 17th

Possible Greenville’s most iconic holiday tradition, Ice on Main is an open air ice skating rink right in the middle of Downtown! 

Poinsettia Christmas Parade

When: December 4th | 6pm

Enjoy the official start of the holiday season in Greenville with the Poinsettia Christmas Parade, a tradition of over 75 years.

Travelers Rest Christmas Parade

When: December 11th | 10:30 am 

Join Travelers Rest in celebrating “Christmas in America!”

Christmas “Inn” Our Town Carriage Rides 

When: December 9th – December 19th | 6pm – 9pm

Carriage rides will be offered in Downtown Travelers Rest nightly from December 9th – December 19th and will include free photos with Santa. Reservations are required for carriage rides, so plan in advance! Tickets are $10/adult, $8/senior (56+), and children 3 and under are free.

A Very Grateful Christmas

When: December 11th | 11am – 4pm

Grateful Brew is thrilled to partner with Project Host and YouthBASE for a holiday event, A Very Grateful Christmas! We are excited to have a very special guest join us – Santa! A photoshoot with Santa will be in progress throughout the day, and attendees will be able to bring their children or pets for a photo op. Adults, including pet owners, are also welcome to join the shoot.

In lieu of an event fee, all participants of the photoshoot will be asked to bring a donation for either Project Host or YouthBASE. Please note that we cannot guarantee the time of your photo op due to the nature of this event, but we will move through the photoshoot as quickly as possible. Registration is not required as walk-ins are welcome, but priority will be placed for attendees with tickets.

HostMobile Food Truck will be parked here during the event; all proceeds from the food truck go directly to Project Host to help continue their work in Greenville. Additionally, seasonal beverages (both coffee and beer) will be available from our bar to keep you in the holiday spirit.

Santa’s Sleigh Rides 

When: November 19th – December 23rd 

Santa and his elves are coming to Greenville! Enjoy a ride in Old Saint Nick’s Sleigh as he tours Downtown Greenville. Advanced registration is required. Tickets are  $10/adult, $5/child (3-10), children 2 and under are free.

Window Wonderland

When: December

Watch Greenville transform into a winter wonderland as Downtown Merchants decorate their shop windows. Visitors can vote for their favorite window display! 

Holiday Hustle 5K & Kids Fun Run

When: December 4th at 9am and December 5th at 11am

Usher in the holiday season with a little hustle and a dash of spirit! This holiday-themed 5K takes place on a one-mile loop around Trailblazer Park in Travelers Rest. Sign up for $15 (prices increasing after December 1st).

Winter Wonderland Trail at Silva Terra Nature Park

When: November 21st – January 2nd (Tuesday-Friday, Sunday) | 10am – 6pm

Enjoy a walk through a winter wonderland with the family. The Mistletoe Trail features Candy Cane Lane, Santa’s Cabin, Narnia Lantern Forest, and more, with up to 3 miles of trails available. Holiday portraits will be available December 4-5 with Sydney Rose Photography. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. $5/person or $20/family up to 6.

Holiday Markets

TD Saturday Market – Holiday Edition

When: December 4th and December 11th | 9am – 1pm

Enjoy this festive  edition of Greevnille’s most popular summer farmers market! The TD Saturday Market – Holiday Edition features seasonal produce, holiday baskets, hand-crafted gifts, and more.

Indie Craft Fair Holiday Pop Up

When: Fridays – Sundays November 5th – December 19th | 11am – 5pm

Discover dozens of local vendors at The Maker’s Collective exclusive holiday pop up. Online shopping is available.

Travelers Rest Farmers Market Very Merry Christmas Market

When: December 11th | 12:30pm – 4:30pm

Shop 70+ local vendors in Travelers Rest’s Trailblazer Park, plus enjoy food trucks and live music. This event will take place after the Travelers Rest Christmas Parade. 

Greer Farmers Market Christmas Festival

When: December 4th – 5th | 10am – 2pm

Shop local produce, pastured meats, artisan goods, and more in Greer City Park.

Holiday Artisan Market

When: November 2nd – December 24th | Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm

The Artists Collective of Spartanburg is hosting a holiday market featuring locally made art specially curated for gift giving.

Holiday Markets “Inn” the Breezeway

When: Friday nights October 15th – December 17th | 6pm – 8pm

Supporting local Makers, Artisans, and BakersWe will also have unique coffee drinks and desserts in Steam Coffee and Cream available to enjoy while you shop.

The Heddle Holiday Market

When: December 4th | 12pm – 4pm 

The Market at Heddle is dedicated to providing a season of family fun and local shopping. Their Holiday Market will feature food and artisan goods from around the Upstate. 

The Grand Marvy Holiday Market

When: November 27th | 10am – 3pm

Enjoy live music, good food, yummy drinks, and vintage curated goods a the Grand Marvy market at the Spinning Jenny. 

Where to Buy Your Christmas Tree

Christmas at the Farm 

When: November 26th – November 28th | 11am – 9pm (6pm Sunday)

Make picking out your Christmas tree a night to remember! Greenville Christmas Trees is creating a must-attend event at Arran Farm featuring hot chocolate and s’mores, arts and crafts, local vendors, and of course a beautiful farm full of Christmas trees to choose from! Tickets are $7/person.

Davenport Tree Farm

When: open the week of Thanksgiving until Christmas

Select and cut your own tree from a variety of trees including Crepe Myrtle, Birch, Leyland Cypress, and more. Browse handmade wreaths, garlands, and holiday gifts in the farm gift shop and enjoy a playground, live music, bonfire, and other holiday festivities.  

Country Boy’s Home & Garden Center

When: Monday-Saturday 9am – 6pm; Sunday 12pm-6pm

Country Boy’s is a local full-service garden center and year-round Christmas shop. Their location on Woodruff Road features beautiful CHristmas Trees each year. Wreaths and Christmas Tree Stands available for purchase, and free coffee and hot chocolate are available for all tree shoppers!

Merry Christmas Tree Farm

When: open November 25th thru Christmas (or until sold out) | 9am – DARK (about 5:45pm)

Pick your own and pre-cut trees ranging from 4 to 8 feet tall. Varieties include Leyland Cypress, Murray Cypress, Virginia Pine, White Pine, and more.

Shows and Concerts

Trans-Siberian Orchestra – Christmas Eve and Other Stories

When: December 10th

Multi-platinum, progressive rock group Trans Siberian Orchestra’s highly-anticipated Winter Tour is back and celebrating the 25th anniversary of the group’s landmark album Christmas Eve and Other Stories in the Bon Secours Arena. Tickets starting at $37.

Upstate Holiday Light Show

When: November 25th – December 31st | 6pm – 11pm

Drive through a nighttime Christmas wonderland as 32 million colors set the sky ablaze, synchronized to the music of your favorite holiday classics. Take your time. Park and enjoy. The show lasts 30 minutes, but drive around the track as many times as you’d like! Enjoy small carnival rides and feed farm and exotic animals inside our Petting Zoo or from your car using our drive-thru lane!

Ticket prices start at $35/vehicle

Handel’s Messiah Part 1

When: December 3 | 8pm – 9:30pm

Featuring the Furman Chamber Orchestra, Oratorio Chorus, and Student Soloists. Located in the McAlister Auditorium at Furman University. Free admission; open to the public.

Elf: The Musical

When: December 2 – December 19th 

Watch this cherished family holiday movie come to life on the stage at The Greenville Theatre. This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” Tickets are $40.

Disney on Ice presents Mickey and Friends

When: November 24th – November 26th

Join Mickey and his Disney friends as your favorite stories come to life at Disney On Ice the Bon Secours Arena.

Tickets start at $15/person. Children ages 2 and under will be placed in a lap and do not need tickets. All other children require tickets. Purchase tickets here.

Service of Lessons and Carols

When: December 12th | 3pm – 4pm and 5pm – 6pm

Presented by the Furman Music Department: celebrate the Advent season with the Furman Chamber Choir, conducted by Dr. Hugh Ferguson Floyd and accompanied by Dr. Charles Tompkins, organist, at their first performance of Lessons and Carols since the COVID-19 Pandemic. The 2021 presentation of Furman’s Festival of Lessons and Carols is the twenty-fifth iteration in the university’s history.

Services are at 3 and 5 p.m. in the Daniel Memorial Chapel and are free and open to the public.

Due to limited seating, a ticket is required for admission. To request tickets, complete the order form and select up to four tickets. The tickets will be mailed to your home address, or you can choose to pick up at will call. Sales end on December 10th. Purchase tickets here.

The Final Countdown 

When: December 2nd – January 9th (special New Year’s Eve Performance)

From Holiday classics like “Little Saint Nick” and feel-good classic rock jams like “Don’t Stop Believin’”, “1999,” and “Vogue”, no matter what holiday you’re celebrating, join Centre Stage for an original holiday rock show like no other! Tickets are $35.
