Chris began work as a web coder and copywriter during high school and through college. Chris began Engenius 15 years ago – the name being a combination of the words “engine” and “genius” -with the goal of being a smart and effective local solution for his clients as well as an amazing place to work.
What is your ideal client?
“Most of Engenius’ clients are large enough to have a Marketing Coordinator on staff, but not so large that they have an entire team devoted to marketing,” Chris explained. Chris’ team at Engenius focuses on digital marketing and web design and will help their clients outsource other marketing needs with trusted partners.
How do you get things started with a new client?
“When a potential client calls in and is interested in SEO or web design,” Chris shared, “our team does a Situational Analysis.” A situational analysis allows the Engenius team to dig deeper, determining the potential client’s audience, successful past projects, areas for growth, and more. “Once the client’s needs are determined, we’ll create a personalized plan to help them achieve their goals.”
What changes are you seeing in the local business landscape?
“It’s fascinating being in the digital marketing industry. We have so. much. data. What we’ve seen over the last two years with the pandemic is that the way people interact and purchase has changed.” Chris went on to explain that here in the Upstate, the massive uptick in out-of-state folks moving in really changes the marketing landscape. How do you market local businesses to new people? How do you market new out of state businesses to locals? All these questions and more must be considered by Chris and his team.
