Like all American state fairs, the Upper SC State Fair will involve a competitive recreational gathering of the Upper South Carolinas population. The state fair is usually held in the late summer or early fall and usually includes those who have won in their respective categories in the lower local levels.
The 2013 Upper SC State Fair, which is usually held annually, will be on from October 18th to 31st, 2013; this is earlier than the usual dates of late August and early September. The fair dates hopes to take advantage of more favorable weather. It will also be marking its 50th anniversary since its 1964 inception.
The fair will be held at fairgrounds at the Greenville-Pickens Speedway on U.S 123.as was confirmed by the fair coordinator Tammy Hawkins. The state is featuring the Great American Frontier show. It will include entertainment and exhibitions.
The fair will consist of games, demolition derby and rodeo, amusement rides, a haunted house, exotic and farm animals. There will be new features such as Shooting Stars Ariel thrill Show and the Great American Frontier Show.
It will be an event full of fun for everybody. There will be wristband available daily during the fair, they will give the purchaser unlimited access to rides and will have discounts on a number of days. On the first night of the Upper SC State fair the wristbands will be available for a mere $15.
Several shows will feature during the fair each day. They will include Lee Germain and Judi who will present comedy illusions, Wambold’s circus, Fantazia’s Circus for acrobats, trampoline artists, entertaining motorcyclists and jugglers. There will be pig racing and all these events are free once one has a gate admission.
Gates will be open weekdays at 4:00 PM and weekends at noon. There will be signs giving direction, which will be positioned, at key locations in the entire fairgrounds for easy movement. In the unfortunate event of lost children, they will be taken to a common location at the EMS station. A public address system will be used to announce lost children .The location is outside the main fair office. Lost and found items will betake to, and collected from the main fair office found at the top of the fairgrounds in the metal buildings on the left, which are blue.
Restrooms, which are in the main office building, will be accessible throughout fair hours. They will have attendants and are handicapped-accessible. First aid services will be available and provided by the Bowers EMS if need be. The certified EMTs will take care of both minor and serious first aid needs for those attending the fair. The first aid is located on the left outside the main fair offices.
