I’m answering that question once more in my latest appearance on “Your Carolina With Jack & Megan,” only this time via video conference. As you can see in the video above, I’m standing in a home my team and I are currently rehabbing and about to put on the market.
Right now, interest rates are very low, so it’s a great time for first-time homebuyers to get their feet wet. If you’re thinking of becoming a homeowner and taking advantage of this situation, there are a couple of key steps you must take. First, talk to a lender. Most people need to get a loan to buy a home, and things are changing all the time lately in the mortgage market. A lender will tell you what you qualify for, what your monthly payment will be, how much of a down payment you’ll need, etc. This way, you’ll be able to shop with confidence.
After that, talk to a Realtor such as myself so we can get your home search started on the right foot. We’ve noticed that inventory is low, so you need an agent who knows what’s happening in the market and which homes are being listed. They should even know of a few “coming soon” listings.

Homes between the $175,000 and $250,000 price point (like the one I’m standing in) are moving quickly, so you need to be able to act quickly if you’re buying in this range. At 2:52 in the video above, you can see a quick profile of two of our great homes that have come on the market in this price range that are ideal for first-time homeowners. The first is a gorgeous little cottage-style home with a detached one-car garage on Shipley Lane. The second, located in Shoals Crossing, is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, single-level property that’s already getting a ton of interest.
These are challenging times, and things are moving quickly. There are a lot of moving parts to the home buying process, and having a great agent by your side doesn’t cost you a thing, so give me a call and let’s get you the best deal possible.
